Wed. Where Did We Go?

This Day For My Sister, Janice Yacinich.
Thanks Wally World, 0700 I was gone and zoomed to Sweet Home, A real cool place just at the edge of the mtns. I like the name also. Called Gail to let her know to fuel up as the nxt. Service is 70mi. Camera batteries were dead so missed a cpl of pics of a covered brdg. Short Brdg. Up and over the first big pass. Tombstone Summit, 4285ft. Took a 12 mi. grind to get there. A heavenly ascent, ha! Ha! Quickly down the east side to the junction of 20 and 126. 1 1/2 mi. down 126 to Fish Lake. Lovely spot amongst the lava beds but along a neat creek and lake. Got a fire going, steaks, Downhill Dave’s Bibes, flute music, shower and oh! No! the water pump gave up the ghost. One second it’s spitting out refreshing water, the next it’s done for. Oh, well, nite nite. Oh yea, when we dry camp we usually do not have service so can not get on line. We will keep the blog up though and when we get the chance we will update. Just so as you don’t think that we dropped off the face of this planet.
My sister, Janice, has always been the rock and center of our family. As far back as I can remember, she was there and took care of us. I think of the many trips that we had traveling up and down the west coast as my dad worked in the fruit industry. After she settled in Wa. State, we would visit them every chance we got. She worked at Rocky Reach Dam in Wenatchee Wa. and retired from there a few years ago. She was blessed with a great family and is the matriarch of our family tribe. Love you sis.

  1. Well I remember all those mad dashes from CA to northeastern WA -- one of my favorite childhood memories is going to Auntie Jam's when she had that great old house, in Cashmere I think it was. Anyway, she lived in the middle of, or next to, an apple orchard and we spent many an hour sledding around. And that basement was sure spooky! yea for Auntie Jam!!
