Spent the night at the Gap Ranch. An old C.C. Camp Ground. Found it by accident. Gail seems to be good at this. Neat old buildings and only one rig passed by all night. Great spot. Up and gone at 0605. Cool but nice. Another antelope but nothing else. Clipped along and never did see a sign for Sage Hen Hill Summit. I believe it was the big rest stop before Burns. Riley was just a store at the junction of 20 and 395. On to Burns. Wow! What a change. Hines and Burns are now 1. Big Piute Casino, tons of people. A short break and the next 25 mi. were the longest and straightest I’ve been on. Turned rough and hot but fast. Burns was 40 mi. from the Gap Ranch. Some historic shots and finally reached the edge of the Great Basin. 600 miles long and 500 mi.wide. Found a cool Indian store at the start of the grade. Had a cool drink and the little lady talked up a storm. Finally caught Gail at the next rest stop. Set up the generator and got some blog time in while Gail got the vittles on. Very warm and humid. Had two close ones today. One rig and trailer came over the warning bumps but just after they passed me. The second little a-hole deliberately crossed over the warning bumps to see how close he could get. Gets the adrenaline going and I think of the things I could do to that sob if only I could catch em.
Sis, Dorothy, is the baby in our family. She and my uncle Allen are close in years. She also has had a tough row to hoe in her life but did go on to College and got her degree. She works for our Tribe. She has been having some health problems of late and I hope that she gets through this ok. Did not see a lot of her over the years but I still love her and wish her and her family the best. Love Ya.
